Project #806

Christmas in April

USA

District: 5190

Rotary Club: Georgetown

24-Apr-10

Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Number of Volunteers Expected: 30

Location: Georgetown / El Dorado County

The Cameron Park, Georgetown and Pollock Pines-Camino Rotary Clubs have teamed up with the Salvation Army to assist the needy in El Dorado County (Western Slope). Volunteers will ring the bells from 10 AM until 4 PM. This effort will require 60+ workers provided by the Rotary Clubs.

There has been a 300% increase in request for funds from those who are homeless and hungry right here where we live. The Salvation Army has an impeccable record of being highly efficient and providing a screening process to assess those who truly need help. Many of the victims are children and the elderly. The money we raise from this event will be used to pass out vouchers for gasoline (for job interviews and doctors appointments), food, clothing, energy, and other needs.

Rotary is asking the public to step up and help in whatever manner they can.
